About the Waterfall

Discover Manthokha Waterfall in Kharmang, Gilgit Baltistan

Manthokha Waterfall, also spelled Manthoka, is one of the best known waterfalls in Baltistan. It drops about 180 feet (55 metres) in Kharmang Valley, Gilgit Baltistan, surrounded by green pastures, streams and the towering Karakoram, and draws tourists, students and families every season.
From our resort it is about 36 km, roughly 1 hour by road. From Skardu city it is about 80 km, a drive of around two hours, which makes Cascade Resorts a closer base for the visit.
The crystal clear, cold water is the highlight, and the road in is lined with fruit and nut trees and fields of potatoes and maize. Nearby, a restaurant serves local trout and visitors can tour a fish farm.
